Branch Introduction
Welcome to Lyceum Wattala
Lyceum International School Wattala opened its doors on the 3rd of September 2001 as the 3rd branch of the Lyceum School Network. The educational institution was established under the guidance of Founder Dr. Mohan Lal Grero and Consultant Coordinating Principal Dr. (Mrs) Kumari Grero, and now prospering under Managing Director Mr. Nikitha Grero.
Lyceum International School Wattala boasts 21 years of excellence in education. The school comprises of five large buildings that house over 5500 students of various ethnicity and a committed workforce of over 750.
The Wattala branch upholds the Lyceum International School’s reputation for good conduct and academic excellence, as well as sportsmanship. The school’s strong infrastructure provides students with a myriad of facilities, including the first-of-its-kind 6-lane synthetic track built outside the Sugathadasa Stadium. The school also provides standard Basketball courts, swimming pools, cultural and dancing halls, music rooms and many more.

Message from the Head of School
Welcome to Lyceum International School, Wattala, a community where dreams take root, character grows, and every child is encouraged to discover, develop, and shine. As we celebrate this special milestone, I look back with deep gratitude at the journey that has brought us here.
Since our beginnings in 2001, Lyceum Wattala has grown into a vibrant community of students, teachers, staff, and families, united by a shared belief in the limitless potential of every child. While our achievements make us proud, it is the people, relationships, values, and memories created along the way that truly define us.
At the heart of our journey lies a vision that continues to guide and inspire us. We are privileged to carry forward the legacy of our Founder, Chairman Emeritus of LIS, Patron – LGH, Dr. Mohan Lal Grero; Coordinating Principal Emeritus of LIS & Patron of Institutional Values – LGH, Dr. (Mrs.) Kumari Grero; and Founder, Group Chairman & CEO – LGH, Mr. Nikitha Grero. Their vision and values continue to shape our path and inspire us to create a meaningful future for every child.
