At Lyceum the Upper School consists of the Ordinary Level and Advanced Level Grades that range from Grades 9 to 12.
- Ordinary Levels (O/Ls) – For Grade 9 to 10
- Advanced Levels (A/Ls) – For Grade 11 to 12
At Lyceum International School, students have the opportunity to select the curriculum that best fits their plans for higher studies and career aspirations. Lyceum offers the National General Certificate of Education (GCE) and the International Curriculum for both O/Ls and A/Ls.
* In Lyceum International School Nuwera Eliya, only national curriculum is available.
We follow the government-approved National Curriculum taught in the English medium, O/L students are required to take 9 subjects.
Certification awarded: National General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level.

Certification awarded: National General Certificate of Education Advanced Level.

The International curriculum followed at Lyceum is Pearsons Edexcel; this is a British curriculum, which is internationally recognized by the universities across the globe. When it comes to the International Curriculum, students need to choose between Science and Commerce streams before starting Grade 9. They can then continue till A/Ls in the respective stream.
All students are required to take 7 subjects including one optional subject.
Certification awarded: International General Certificate of Secondary Education (International GCSE).
Compulsory Subjects: Religion, Effective Speech, Physical Education, and Soft Skills.
The subject combinations at each Lyceum International School for O/Ls will be given to students in the Fifth Form, and the subject combinations for A/Ls will be given in the Sixth Form.
Students, following the Edexcel curriculum, are allowed to take the A/L exam in 2 parts; IAS and IA2.
Certification awarded: International Advanced Level.

The National Curriculum O/L examinations will be held in December every year, and the Advanced Level examinations will be held in August of every year.
The International Ordinary Levels and Advanced Levels will be held in May and June each year.
Students, who have met the Lyceum academic standards will be allowed to sit the exams.
Both Sinhala and Tamil are taught as a second language at Lyceum from Grades 1 to 8. Foreign students must also study at least one of the languages.

Students have the option of learning French* or Mandarin Chinese* from Grade 6.
