Lyසිත්තම් 2025, the signature art exhibition of Lyceum International School, Nugegoda, unfolded in vibrant style from the 7th to the 9th of June at the prestigious J.D.A. Perera Art Gallery, Colombo 7. This inspiring event brought together the artistic spirit of our school community, featuring over 3,000 unique artworks—including paintings, canvas creations, batik designs, and sculptures—proudly presented by both students and staff.
Adding distinction to the event, our talented Head Boy and gifted artist, Buvindu Manamperi, was invited as the Chief Guest. We were also honoured by a host of esteemed Guests of Honour, including: Ms. Dharshi Keerthisena, Mr. Sudath Abeysekera, Mr. Kushantha Hewapathirana, Mr. Deepthi Bandara, Mr. Uddika Premarathna, Ms. Chathurika Peiris, Mr. Gayan Wickramathileka, Mr. & Mrs. Wasantha Duggannarala, Ms. Nilmini Thennakoon, Ms. Poornika Peiris, Mr. Peshala Mendis, and Mr. Thusitha Godagedara.
The exhibition captivated visitors through interactive elements such as live sketching demonstrations, a hands-on pottery wheel experience, and a literary layer added by Ms. Odile Melder, who penned thoughtful poems to accompany each staff artwork.
We were deeply privileged by the presence of our Founder, Dr. Mohan Lal Grero, and our Principal, Dr. Mrs. Kumari Grero, whose support and encouragement continue to elevate every Lyceum endeavour.
Our sincere appreciation goes to Ms. Madhavi Thilakaratne and the Art Department for their exceptional leadership, unwavering effort, and artistic vision in making Lyසිත්තම් 2025 a remarkable celebration of imagination, talent, and expression.
