Galina Basnayake, a student of Lyceum Wattala, won a gold medal at the Asian Para Games 2022. Galina has managed to achieve impressive milestones in her recent swimming career with 3 Gold medals in Women’s 400m, 50m and 100m Freestyle events followed by a Silver medal in the Women’s 100m Butterfly event.
Galina was coached by the renowned Julian Bolling, a legend in the Sri Lankan swimming scene. His careful guidance and constant backing helped Galina achieve this career milestone. Winning the gold at the prestigious Asian Para Games is a great achievement for the champ and the school, her win is a testament to the level of commitment Lyceum Wattala puts to sports and coaching.
