Inspired by Vision. Driven by Excellence. Rooted in Sri Lankan Identity.
The Lyceum International Schools marked a momentous occasion with the successful celebration of its 33rd Founder’s Day alongside the 25th Anniversary of Lyceum International School, Wattala, held at the school premises in Wattala.
The historic celebration was graced by the presence of the Founder, Dr. Mohan Lal Grero, and Consulting Coordinating Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Kumari Grero, together with Ms. Premila Paulraj, Chief Executive Officer of Lyceum Education Group and Chief Growth Officer of Lyceum Global Holdings. The event was also attended by the Principal of Lyceum International Schools, Ms. Stella Anton, Advisory Council members, senior management, staff, parents, and students representing the wider Lyceum community.
The celebration reflected on Lyceum’s remarkable journey, which began in 1993 with just seven students and four teachers, founded by Dr. Mohan Lal Grero with a vision to provide high-quality English medium education rooted in Sri Lankan identity and values.
Over the past 33 years, that vision has grown into one of Sri Lanka’s leading international school networks. Today, Lyceum operates 10 main schools across the country and nurtures a vibrant student population of over 27,000 learners, making it one of the largest international school communities in Sri Lanka.
From its humble beginnings, Lyceum has remained committed to shaping young minds, fostering innovation, and nurturing globally competent citizens while preserving Sri Lankan cultural identity. The institution continues to provide a balanced education that combines academic excellence with character development, creativity, and global awareness.
Speaking at the event, the leadership reflected on Lyceum’s enduring mission to empower future generations through education that transcends boundaries, preparing students to become responsible global citizens with strong values and national pride.
The 25th anniversary of Lyceum Wattala added further significance to this year’s celebration, highlighting the school’s contribution to the educational landscape and its continued commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment from the Lyceum community to continue its journey of educational transformation, innovation, and service to the nation.
As Lyceum moves forward, it remains dedicated to its founding vision—building a future where education empowers every learner to succeed locally and globally while staying rooted in Sri Lankan identity.
