Speech Therapist – Academic Enrichment Centre (AEC)

Department: Academic Enrichment Centre (Special Education Needs Unit)

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of students with communication difficulties.
• Design and implement individualized therapy plans (ITPs) based on each child’s specific speech and language needs.
• Provide one-on-one and small-group therapy sessions to support articulation, language development, fluency, and social communication.
• Collaborate with teachers and parents to support students’ communication goals in the classroom and home settings.
• Maintain detailed records and reports of student progress and therapy outcomes.
• Provide guidance and training to staff on strategies to support communication development in the classroom.
• Refer students to external professionals if necessary and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or Speech Pathology.
• Registered or licensed speech therapist (if applicable by local regulations).
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience working with children, preferably in an educational or clinical setting.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.

Desirable Attributes:

• Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, or other developmental challenges.
• Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) methods.
• Empathy, patience, and a passion for working with children of diverse backgrounds and needs.
