Assistant Teacher – Cookery (Middle School)

Grade Levels: 6 to 8

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the main Cookery Teacher in planning and conducting lessons.
  • Prepare ingredients, tools, and workstations before each class.
  • Assist students during cooking activities to ensure safety and understanding.
  • Monitor student behavior and ensure hygiene and safety protocols are followed.
  • Help in cleaning up after each class and maintaining inventory.
  • Assist with classroom management and administrative tasks such as lesson material preparation, attendance, and documentation.
  • Encourage a positive learning environment that promotes creativity, teamwork, and discipline.

Requirements:

  • GCE A/L qualification or Diploma in Home Science/Culinary Arts/Cookery.
  • Previous experience working with children or in an educational environment is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, reliable, and enthusiastic about working with students.
  • Ability to multitask and follow instructions efficiently.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Passion for culinary arts and education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and students.
  • Willingness to participate in school events, exhibitions, and practical demonstrations.
