Principal's Message

Dear Lyceumers,

Lyceum Nuwara Eliya, we have been continuing to inculcate excellent mindsets and strong ethics in our pupils through every phase of school life. The academic curriculum, school routines, rituals and traditions, discipline, co-curricular activities, service learning, and teachable moments all become opportunities to develop the full range of assets needed for an ethical, productive, and fulfilling life. We are very proud of all the curriculum areas that are offered to the students at Lyceum in the Misty Mountains, having introduced the new area of studies of Agriculture Science as the new stream for Advanced Level from the academic year 2015/2016.

Our Mission is to enhance the potential of every young soul that passes through our halls, empowering them to be the best they can be, and the full participation in academic and co-curricular programs and a willingness to act responsibly as an individual within our educational environment are the factors that enable all to have a successful academic journey. Understanding young minds is our forte and believing that every young soul has a different identity we respect every child's individuality and help them to nurture to their fullest potential.

Our Alma Mater would not be the special place it is, without the ongoing and wonderful work of our well experienced and qualified staff. Our staff consistently strive to build the best possible learning opportunities and outcomes for our students. I thank our staff for their continued hard work, commitment and their support for our students throughout the past couple of years.

Our school value system stresses on making every child morally strong and enabling them to become a global citizen of tomorrow along with giving a multi facet exposure to the students. Quintessential values are instilled in them. Even though they are given wings to fly, yet they remain firmly grounded to their roots. Indeed, we celebrate our key achievements this year in approaching almost the doubled, the enrollment yester year compared to the number that we started with 450 at the amalgamation in 2012/2013.

The Lyceum Network of International Schools in the country tends to go to every extent to achieve holistic development of our children where we guide students to develop competencies, acquire knowledge and good attitudes and provide services.

We try to encourage our children to unleash their fullest potential. We also believe that every child is unique in nature with varying needs. Therefore, by fostering a conducive environment full of love, care and creativity we instill in our children a desire to learn with emphasis on their social, emotional, physical, aesthetic and intellectual developmental aspects.

The school is inching every moment towards greater heights in the fields of academics, sports and extra curricular activities and also infrastructure. We are proud to have our students those who got selected for the State Universities every year in different disciplines both in Science and Commerce streams.

We extend our gratitude to the Founder of of our Alma Mater, Hon. Mohan Lal Grero, the Coordinating Principal Madam Kumari Grero and the Director Mr. Nikitha Grero for providing us with all the facilities and for their encouragement, and all parents for their ongoing strong partnership between home and the school, and the collaboration and relationship which have been continually nurtured through their involvement in our school. Throughout the year, strong numbers of parents and volunteers were part of school and classroom operations. Without parental support, the success of many of our programs and achievements would be limited. We trust that positive partnerships with parents will be maintained everyday, so that all families find a way to be actively involved in their child’s learning journey.

Profound Wishes !
