Congratulations to the Lyceum Wattala Champs

Lyceum Wattala emerged Champions for the 5th consecutive year with 1267 points at the Inter International Schools’ Swimming Championship 2016 held on the 5th and 6th of November 2016 at the Sugathadasa Stadium Swimming Complex.

Well Done Lyceum Wattala Choristers

The Inter International Schools’ Choir Competition organized by Lyceum Wattala, for the second consecutive year was held at Defense Service Schools’ Auditorium on the 30th of October 2016. Sixteen schools participated for the semi finals which was held at Lyceum Wattala on the 22nd of October 2016 and six schools were selected for the final round.

Lyceum Wattala became the 01st Runners-Up.

Lyceum Wattala 15th Year Anniversary Celebrations

A Special Assembly to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of Lyceum Wattala was held on 07th September 2016 in the School Grounds. The Chief Guests were the Founder, Mr. Mohan Lal Grero and Coordinating Principal, Mrs. Kumari Grero.

The guests were welcomed by the Hewisi Band and a resounding round of applause by the whole school. The Deputy Head Prefect, Isuri Gamage reminisced milestones from past 15 years. The Chief Guest, our founder Mr. Mohan Lal Grero thanked everyone for their continuous and unwavering support and hard work towards the success of Lyceum Wattala. The Director of Wattala school Mrs. Dilmi Ratnayake presented the anniversary souvenir to Mr. & Mrs. Grero during the ceremony.

The celebrations were made complete with a treat of popsicles and an extended interval.

Lyceum Wattala Winners at The State Childrens Drama Festival 2016

The State Children's Drama Festival 2016 was organized by the Department of Cultural Affairs and the State Advisory Board for Drama on the instructions of the Ministry of Internal Affair, North-Western Development and Cultural Affairs  was held from the 20th to the 27th of September 2016 at the Tower Hall Maradana. Fifteen children's dramas under the limited category and six under the open category was staged at the final round of the Festival.

 The Award ceremony was held at the Maharagama Youth Centre on the  14th October 2016. Students of Lyceum Wattala showed their talent once again by winning for the 04th consecutive year with the majority of 13 Awards including the Award for the Best Drama of the Year “Happily Ever After”Directed by Sudarshana Bandara. Other awards included Best Actor-Female Sakina Jusar, Best Supporting Actor Devruk Ratnayake, Best Supporting Actor(Female) Tinara Kahanda, Merit Award for Acting Chamya Liyanage,Best Choreography, Best Stage Management, Best Set Design,Best Make-up, Best Costume, Best Stage Lighting, Best Music Director, and Best Script Writer.
