Help Us Help Them Lyceum Kindness programme at Hinuggala Junior School

The primary students of Lyceum International School - Kurunegala have organized a CSR project for the Grade 5, 9, 10 and 11 students of the Hinuggala Junior School, which is a school that falls under the low income region of the Kurunegala district.
Through this project, we not only aim to provide these students with some basic necessities such as sanitary facilities, stationary, past papers, books and educational support equipment, but we also hope to be able to form a great relationship between our schools in order to continue to help support them whenever possible.

The Buddhist Devotional singing program of Lyceum International School, Kurunegala "Athugalpura Bethi Gee Waruna" was held recently at the school premises.

The programme was successfully completed thanks to the cooperation and effort from students, parents, academic and non - academic staff of Lyceum Kurunegala.

The management of Lyceum Kurunegala are extremely grateful to the Maha Sanga and all the religious leaders in Kurunegala, who made time to grace the Bakthi Gee and make it a memorable one. Their participation in this event was a highly honourable one and a great example to our country.

It was an honour to welcome Professor Kolitha Bhanu Dissanayake, Dean of the Visual and Performing Arts, Sri Lanka, who graced the occasion as the chief guest and delivered an inspiring and motivating speech to our students, parents and the rest of our community.


Sri Ananda Dhamma School, inaugurated by Lyceum International School, Kurunegala on the 7th of May 2017, was the first English Buddhist School of its kind in the North Western Province that is conducted by an international school.

The school recently celebrated its 1st  year anniversary with religious observances under the guidance of the Maha Sanga, Principal and the management of Lyceum Kurunegala. From an initial student population of 36 students, the school has now grown to over 200 students in just under a year of operation. The school is also the eighth Dhamma School facilitated by Lyceum International Schools, following its establishment in 1993.

A special Bodhi Pooja ceremony was held at the Ibbagala Rajamaha Viharaya, Kurunegala on 29th May to commemorate the Dhamma School’s 1st Year Anniversary. The Bodhi Pooja was conducted by the Chief Incumbent of Ibbagala Rajamaha Viharaya & Secondary Chief Incumbent of North Central Province, Most Ven. Wetekgama Seelananda Thero.



The very first Prize-giving ceremony of the Sri Ananda English Medium Dhamma School concluded successfully at the Lyceum Adventure Park , Kurunegala. This Dhamma School, which is also affiliated to Maliyadeva Vidyarakshaka Pirivena is the very first Buddhist School of its kind in the North Western Province that is conducted by an international school.
The Maha Sangha appreciated Lyceum's efforts to spread the knowledge and philosophy of the Buddha's teachings, despite being an international school and together, we hope to produce true Buddhists who will one day become wonderful citizens of this country.


In order to make cultural values to the future generations, the academic staff of the pre - primary section of Lyceum International School Kurunegala was organised a Sinhala and Tamil New Year Celebration program recently at the school premises.
