LYCEUM WATTALA - A DAVISON ALL ISLAND BASKETBALL CHAMPIONS AT THE UNDER 17 GIRLS TOURNAMENT

The A Division All Island Basketball tournament was organized by the Sri Lanka Schools Basketball Association and was held from the 09th to 12th August 2017 at Lyceum Wattala Basketball Courts.
Lyceum International School, Wattala won the Championship defeating St..Josephs College in the Finals (score 49 – 20). Special awards for the Best Offensive Player was won by Hazeena Abdul and the Most Valuable Player was won by Lubna Morseth. The Deputy President of the Sri Lanka Schools Basketball Association Mrs. S. Kurumbalapitiya presided as Chief Guest for the Award Ceremony.

LYCEUM WATTALA CRICKETERS WIN THE UNDER 19 CHAMPIONSHIP FOR THE 8th TIME AT THE INTER INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS CRICKET TOURNAMENT

Defending champions Lyceum International School - Wattala retained the R.I.T. Alles memorial trophy for the 8th year beating Lyceum International School - Nugegoda at the Inter International Schools Cricket Tournament which concluded recently at Shalika ground, Colombo.The tournament which began on the 5th July witnessed an undefeated team up to the finals.
Lyceum International School - Wattala winning the toss made 265 runs in 40 overs. Hasitha Gunasiri 53, Kavindu Rajakaruna 45.
In reply Lyceum International School - Nugegoda were bowled out for 191 runs in 34.3 overs. Pasindu Rajapaksha 56 Akalanka Senevirathne 35.
Bowling for Lyceum Wattala , Jeevithan Mageshwaran 4/30, Imantha Fernando 2/18 and Chandira Yasaswin 2/36.

LYCEUM INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL WATTALA, ATHLETES DOMINATE AT THE WESTERN PROVINCE ATHLETIC MEET 2017

Lyceum International School - Wattala Girls created history by winning the overall girls shield at the western province Athletic meet which was held recently at Diyagama Mahinda Rajapakshe Sports Complex. This is a significant achievement for an international school as it was the 01st time that the overall title was won by an International School. Lyceum International School- Wattala was well ahead of Ave Maria Convent - Negombo and Holy Cross Convent - Gamapaha. The points won by each School is as follows,

  • Lyceum International School Wattala – 157 points
  • Ave Maria Convent Negombo – 97 points
  • Holy Cross Convent Gampaha – 87points

Lyceum International School - Wattala was also awarded the Girls Under 18 and Under 20 overall Championship as well as the Relay Overall Championship. Sachini Divyanjalee won the under 18 Best Athlete title for her 200m run . The boys of Lyceum Wattala won overall 3rd place in the meet.

LYCEUM WATTALA BOYS UNDER 15 DOUBLES BADMINTON CHAMPIONS

Lyceum International School Wattala, shuttlers won the under 15 'B' division doubles badminton tournament which was held recently, at Richmond College - Galle.
The tournament witnessed an unbeaten Lyceum team which took on St. Thomas College Bandarawela at the finals. The final scores were 3 -2.
In the preliminary rounds Lyceum International School - Wattala beat Bamndarnayake College -Gampaha and Carey College while in the Quarter Finals they beat Presidents College Maharagama and in the Semi Finals Dharmapala College Pannipitiya.
