Independence Day Celebrations at Lyceum International School Kurunegala

Students of Lyceum International School, Kurunegala celebrated 70th Independence Day enthusiastically , this morning at the school premises. Mr.Nikitha Grero, Principal of Lyceum Kurunegala hoisted the national flag, students sang national anthem and delivered speeches to show there respect for mother Sri Lanka

World Championship Medal from Lyceum, Nugegoda Athlete

Dineth De Zoysa of Lyceum International School, Nugegoda was able to thrive at the 2017 World Taekwondo Championship by winning a bronze medal on the 6th December 2017. The competition was hosted in Seoul, South Korea at the Taekwondo Head Quarters.  25 countries with 55 competitors participated for the event where Dineth represented Sri Lanka in the under 15 individual male’s category. He was chosen to patriciate the championship by the technical committee of the event through the Ambassadors who reviewed the performance of the athletes at a pre-event selection out of 95 countries. Competing against 05 players from Algeria, Brazil, Peru, Papua New Guinea, and Romania, Dineth had to perform two poomsae at the same time in his category for his accomplishment.


Western Province Colours to the Lyceumers

05 athletes from Lyceum Nugegoda obtained western province colours awarded by Department of Education, Western Province on the 06th December 2017 held at the Royal College Auditorium. Swimmers Oneli Yahampath, Chris Pavithra and Shanali Perera, Athlete Romeshi Athidiya, and Gymnast Natashi Wijesuriya represented Lyceum Nugegoda at the event.

All the athletes participated at National Level and were placed high ranks in all island tournaments.

Kandyan Dancing Champions

The international dance competition “Christmas Stars”, was held on the 7th of January 2018 in Moscow Russia. 19 students from Lyceum International School- Nugegoda also participated while 250 dance teams of 30 Western countries were brought forward. A total of 2500 students participated in the event.


Representing Sri Lanka , Lyceum Nugegoda presented ‘Sword Dance’ and ‘Lee Keli’ at the competition which belonged to the Sri Lankan traditional folk dance category, where they managed to bag the 1st place in both categories.

Also the ‘Sword Dance’ item won the highest award titled “Best of Best Dance” at this competition.
