The A Division All Island Basketball tournament was organized by the Sri Lanka Schools Basketball Association and was held from the 09th to 12th August 2017 at Lyceum Wattala Basketball Courts.
Lyceum International School, Wattala won the Championship defeating St..Josephs College in the Finals (score 49 – 20). Special awards for the Best Offensive Player was won by Hazeena Abdul and the Most Valuable Player was won by Lubna Morseth. The Deputy President of the Sri Lanka Schools Basketball Association Mrs. S. Kurumbalapitiya presided as Chief Guest for the Award Ceremony.
Lyceum International School Kurunegala & Anuradhpura had another successful day at Mahameuna Uyana Anuradhapura , recently.
Over 200 volunteers joined together to help clean Mahameuna Uyana in the sacred city of Ancient Anuradhapura Kingdom.
Junior Leaders of the Lyceum International School, Nugegoda , launched Eco -friendly water bottle for solution to the millions of plastic bottles that clog Sri Lanka' s landfills each year.
Mrs.Kumari Grero , Coordinating Principal of Lyceum Schools introduced Lyceum Eco Friendly Water Bottle to Mr.Seelarathna Senarath , Director of China Radio International - Sri Lanka ,recently at the school premises .
Teachers training is a must to produce quality students: Dr.Sarath Perera , Dean of the Lyceum Academy for Teacher Education said that training teachers is essential to produce quality students for development of nation as well as country. He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of Diploma Courses of the Lyceum Academy , Kurunegala Branch , today .
Lyceum Academy Registrar Mr.W.K.G. Welivita, Senior Lecturers of Lyceum Academy Mrs.Lathika Gunawardane, Mrs.Shanthini Abeygunawardane, Mrs. P.Kumarasinghe and a large number of students were present on the occasion.
Addressing the ceremony Dr.Sarath Parera said that the Lyceum Teacher Training Academy Kurunegala Program would open new horizon for quality of teachers’ education in Northwestern province. He said that if we wanted to raise standard of the nation & the future generation , we must focus on quality of teachers’ education. Further, Dr.Sarath Perera said that L.A.T.E would be producing best teachers for the nation.
