MRS KUMARI GRERO THE NEW HEAD OF TISSL

Mrs.Kumari Grero, our Coordinating Principal was recently appointed as the Chairperson of The International Schools of Sri Lanka (TISSL) at the AGM which was recently held in Colombo, making all of us at Lyceum extremely proud.
Everyone mutually agreed that there is no better person in the nation than her to lead us all at the apex level. She is indeed a true leader in the field of education. It was truly remarkable to watch how she developed eight branches within the Lyceum International Schools Network with unwavering courage, commitment and dedication. Under her guidance, eight branches with over 3000 employees and 17,000 plus children are presently receiving employment and education.
She is a lady who has over the years shown empathy, compassion and kindness to all irrespective of gender, cast, creed or economic background. A true leader in every sense of the word she is someone we all can look up to and try to emulate.

We are privileged to have her as the Chairperson for TISSL for the next two years and we wish her all the best with her vision to take TISSL to even greater heights! Supporting her in this task for the period of 2017/2019 will be – Dr.Frank Jayasing

OPEN DAY of Lyceum International School

Lyceum International School, which is the brain child of the prominent educationalist - Mr. Mohan Lal Grero, will celebrate its 24th birthday in June this year. With 8 branches in major cities in Sri Lanka, Lyceum is now considered to be the only school with the largest network of schools in the country.

One of Mr. Grero’s prime objectives of setting up Lyceum, was to deliver affordable English medium education to the masses across the country, whilst developing the whole child through various extra-curricular activities as well as instilling children with a love for traditional cultures and values of all religions, races and societies. This is the very concept that has been incorporated into every Lyceum branch across the island over the past two decades of its existence and is one of the reasons for its successful evolution through the years.

With the newest branch being established in Kurunegala just less than a year ago, the school has seen a tremendous growth over this short period of time, which is no doubt due to the unconditional support received from our growing community of teachers, parents and students.

In order to strengthen ties with our community a
nd make awareness of Lyceum Kurunegala, the management of the Lyceum Kurunegala organizes an “Open Day”, which is scheduled on 15th June 2017 at 4.30pm at the Lyceum International School, No. 71, Uduwalpola Rd, Kurunegala .
