Lyceum International School Anuradhapura, affiliated to the Lyceum Group of Schools, recently opened its new swimming pool at No. 128, Isurupura, New Kandy Road, Anuradhapura. The event was graced by the presence of the Secretary-General of Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), the Hon. Minister of Irrigation and Agriculture- Duminda Dissanayake.
Lyceum International School Anuradhapura created a milestone in the history of international schools in the Anuradhapura District, as this is the first swimming pool built by an international school in the area.
Addressing the gathering at the opening ceremony, Hon. Minister Dissanayake stated that he believed that Lyceum International School, as a leading international school in the country which had produced upstanding citizens for the country, would be a pillar of strength in improving the educational status of the Anuradhapura District. He went on to thank Founder Mohan Lal Grero for establishing a branch school in Anuradhapura, as the Lyceum Group of Schools had produced a host of valuable Sri Lankans over a period of 23 years.

The newly constructed Swimming pool of the Lyceum International School, Anuradhapura will be declared open on 06th of February at 8.30 at No.128, Isurupura, New Kandy Road, Anuradhapura.
Lyceum International School Anuradhapura will become the first International school to have a swimming pool in the Anuradhapura district.
Mr.Nikitha Grero, Director said, “ this is another milestone in the three year history of Lyceum International School, Anuradhapura and Lyceum will extend its effort to provide a quality international education for the Anuradhapura district with Sri Lankan identity “.
The opening ceremony will be graced by three sectarian monastic Bhikku’s, other religious clergy, Founder of Lyceum International Schools, Mr.Mohan Lal Grero, Lyceum – Anuradhapura Headmistress Mrs.Dilrukshi Peiris, Coordinating Principal Mrs. Kumari Grero, Director Mr.Nikitha Grero,and other invited guests.

Six years old Siluni Tharulya Sandakini Gaganathara Walakuluarchchi, grade two student of the Lyceum International School, Nugegoda represented Sri Lanka and won the 3rd runner up award in intermediate “B” Category. ( She attempts 100 addition, subtraction and 50 multiplications, 50 division.
This is particularly, Silunii was the youngest person to participate in Intermediate “ B ” category and she compete with around 3000 children for International competition totally 11,000 children participated from different parts of the world.
The “Cambridge Outstanding Learner Awards” ceremony organised by the Cambridge International Examination Board was held in Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo recently. Cambridge International Examinations is the only global organization founded by the world’s top universities to conduct international education assessment and awards. It is affiliated to the University of Cambridge in England. About 1214 students from Lyceum International Schools took the examinations and 70 of them received the, High Achiever Awards.
Lyceum students are excelling in their studies both at national and international levels. For the past twenty two years, a large number of Lyceum students have been ranked Top in the World at Cambridge International Examinations at O- level and A – Level.
In the category Top in Sri Lanka , four Lyceumers acquired the first rank : At O- Level, Lakindu Bandara( Lyceum – Nugegoda ) ranked Top in Sri Lanka in Environmental Management and Literature in English , Sumini Siyambalapitiya (Lyceum - Nugegoda) ranked Top in Sri Lanka in Sinhala, Dhanushka Nanayakkara (Lyceum-Gampaha) ranked Top in Sri Lanka in Business Studies, Ravindu P.
