Winter Wonderland an Evening of Christmas Carols of Lyceum International School, Anuradhapura was held recently and was a smashing success

 Bishop of Anuradhapura district Most Rev. Norbert Andradi graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, together with Mr. Athula Weerasinghe, Senior Superintendent of Police, Anuradhapura,  Mr.Rajeeve Abeysekara, Manager of Dialog Axiata  , Anuradhapura , Mr. Nikitha Grero, Director of Lyceum International Schools, Ms. Dilrukshi Peiris , Headmistress of Lyceum Anuradhapura also participated.
The students and staff of Lyceum Anuradhapura did a great job with an excellence performance !

Fairy tale book written by an eleven year old girl named Binadie Ratnayake was launched on the 3rd of December 2016

‘Amelia and the Ring of Enjoyment’, a fantasy fairy-tale book written by an eleven-year-old girl named Binadie Ratnayake was launched on the 3rd of December 2016 at the Bellanwila Temple. She is a student of Lyceum International School Nugegoda.
The chief guest for the memorable occasion was Ven. Prof. Bellanwila Wimalaratana Thero, Deputy Chief Incumbent and Chancellor of University of Sri Jayawardenapura.  Prof. Senavi Epitawatta, Former Vice Chancellor of University of Sri Jayawardenapura, Dr. W.A Abeysinghe, Chairman National Library and Documentation Service and Mrs. Kumari Grero, Principal of Lyceum International School Nugegoda were also present amongst the distinguished gathering.
The book is about a young girl named Amelia Jennifer who discovers a land called Enchantia and helps fairies and other magical folks to fight evil with goodness. Binadie had begun to develop her language and writing skills since her early childhood and she also wrote simple poems on walls and later on paper. She had also improved her speaking ability by relating short and easy stories you could never stop listening to and she’d even written them down as little memories. Amelia and the R
ing of Enjoyment is the 1st book of a series of 5 books. She has already completed writing 3 books of the series of 5 which will be published in future.
The guests who addressed the gathering were highly impressed about her skills and talent in writing and creativity. They highlighted the value of writing books and gave further advice to improve her skills in future.
Many made wonderful remarks after witnessing the programme, and everyone highly praised the young author.

Lyceum Wattala students rewarded at the Cambridge Learners Awards

Students from Lyceum Wattala were rewarded for their outstanding performances by the Cambridge International Examinations on 22nd November 2016 at the Kingsbury, Colombo. These students have obtained outstanding results at the Cambridge International O/L and A/L examinations held in May / June 2016.

Debutant Lyceum International School Nugegoda Under 13 Cricketers make it all the way to the 3rd Round

Lyceum International School Nugegoda under 13 cricketers successfully positioned themselves as group leaders (Group AT) of the second round of the All Island Singer Trophy Under 13 Division III Cricket Tournament 2016.

Match No. 1
Lyceum International School Nugegoda vs Sri Rahula Vidyalaya Mulleriyava

Lyceum Nugegoda scored a total of 232 runs for 8 wickets and declared their innings and bowled out the opposition for 90 runs.

The opening pair of Lyceum Nugegoda Tharusha Jayaweera scored 89 runs and Dhanuka Gurusinghe score 48 runs. Bowlers Sonal Kodikara took 4 wickets for 20 runs, Thinal Singhabahu 3 wickets for 7 runs and Lakindu Sachin 3 wickets for 43 runs.

The match was drawn and Lyceum Nugegoda claimed the victory by first innings point.

Lyceum International School Nugegoda vs H.K. Dharmadasa Peliyagoda

The opponents batted first and were bowled out for 130 runs in 40 overs of the 1st innings. Skipper Danal Seneviratne of Lyceum Nugegoda bagged 5 wickets for 33 runs.

Lyceum Nugegoda batted for 48 overs and scored 221 runs for 04 wickets.

Thanusha Jayaweera 65 r
uns, Danal Seneviratne 45 runs (not out) and Dhanuka Gurusinghe 44 runs.

Match No. 3
Lyceum International School Nugegoda vs Presidents College, Kotte

President’s College cricketers were bowled out for 48 runs in 21.4 overs in the 1st innings.

For Lyceum Nugegoda Lakindu Sachin took 4 wickets for 14 runs and Danal Seneviratne took 3 wickets for 10 runs.

In their 2nd innings President College once again was bowled out in 27.5 overs for 36 runs.

Thinal Singhabahu of Lyceum Nugegoda 3 wickets for 4 runs and Rudam Dulnath 2 wickets for 6 runs.

Lyceum Nugegoda declared their first inning in 34 overs for a total of 151 runs for 07 wickets.

Skipper Danal Seneviratne scored a 100 runs (not out) and Tharusha Jayaweera scored 28 runs.

Lyceum International School Nugegoda won by an inning and 67 runs.
