LITTLE LYCEUMERS CELEBRATE AVURUDU

The Nursery to Grade 5 students of Lyceum International School Nugegoda recently celebrated the Sinhala and Tamil New year during the last week of school.

All students were dressed in their colorful traditional attire and engaged in the traditions linked to the Avurudu celebrations from lighting of the hearth and boiling of milk, partaking of food, ganu-denu to games such as raban-playing and a tug-o-war.

 

The entire programme was focused on building cultural values in Lyceumers from their formative ages.

It is our responsibility to educate our traditional customs, culture, morals and values to the future generation.


Accordingly, the Lyceum Kurunegala Sinhala - Tamil New Year festival program was the great pleasure and as well as an educational opportunity for the children.

KIDDIES ACTIVITY TIME AT LYCEUM KURUNEGALA

Kiddies Activity Time (KAT) 2018 of the Lyceum International School, Kurunegala concluded successfully at the Maligapitiya Grounds, Kurunegala.
At the event, Principal and Director of Lyceum International School, Kurunegala, Mr. Nikitha Grero made this statement: "Lyceum Kurunegala will be the best school in Sri Lanka in the future as our children have demonstrated today, that we have laid a solid foundation for our students to reach this target."

Annual Primary Concerts of Lyceum International School Nugegoda

The annual primary concerts of Gr.02, 03 & 05 students of Lyceum International School, Nugegoda were held recently at the school’s main hall.

 

Under the titles of “Tales & Tunes”, “Magical Mirrors” & “Sparkle” the three concerts were an excellent platform for young students to showcase their talents in various genres such as music, dance & speech. The programme included a mix of English, Sinhala, & Tamil items. The hall and backdrop were beautifully decorated too.

 

It is no easy task to put together an event of this magnitude, and it was made possible thanks to all hardworking teachers & students at Lyceum, Nugegoda.
