Co-curricular and extra curricular activities

The School has a wide range of co-curricular and extra curricular activities that suit the different age groups and the two sexes. All students when they first enter the school will be allocated to one of four houses: Aquila, Cetus, Cygnus and Ursa. The school's internal activities and sports are organized on a "house" basis.

  Sports Activities
Students will be encouraged to participate in a variety of sporting, aesthetic and recreational activities. Sports and recreational activities take place normally after school and are organized by teachers or professional instructors.
Sports for all and physical fitness are seen as preparation for a healthy and active life. The sports activities which are available are swimming, athletics and self - defence (Karate). The school will provide the services of professional coaches of the highest calibre in almost all these sporting areas so that our students can get the best of training. The aim is that by the time our students leave school, they will have at least one leisure time activity which they will want to pursue thereafter.

  Music
In music we will provide opportunities for students in the middle school to take part in the school band. The students in the Pre and primary grades are trained to participate in the percussion bands. Numerous performance opportunities exist within the school both formal and informal. They include public concerts, assemblies, variety entertainment, Sports Meet, Prize Day and other events related to the school. As a subject, Music is taught up to Grade 5.

  Art And Handwork
Provision will be made in the time table for art to be taught up to Grade 5. Fine examples of pupils' art will be exhibited in the College Display Unit - be it a drawing, painting, printing or sketching. Students are also encouraged to take part in art competitions held outside the school.
Visits to galleries and museums will be organized whenever possible and students are encouraged to make independent visits to such institutions.

  Speech & Drama
Exams conducted by Trinity College London in the field of speech and drama and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) are easily acclaimed as the most recognized on an international scale. The Speech and Drama exams offer assessment of ability in speech, spoken, interpretation and dramatic performance. The syllabus allows for individuality of approach, creativity and internationalism. Hence we will be preparing our students for such exams.

  Debating
This is a skill that encourages students to make factual presentations on a given topic and also counter ideas and opinions brought against them. The development of this skill enables them to stand up to an issue without fear or favour.
While intra school debating is held on a 'house' basis, inter school debating is also encouraged.

  Scrabble & Chess
Scrabble and Chess are other activities which are provided to the students to engage in for recreational purposes. Tournaments are held even in these activities on a 'house' basis.
Co-curricular & extra curricular activities are highly valued as essential components within a balanced, all round education. The students will be encouraged to compete both at intra and inter school levels.
